Recovery, Purification, Analysis and Chemical Modification of a Waste Cooking Oil

Abstract Disposing of residual cooking oil is a major environmental concern, so its conversion into commercial products desirable goal. To design the chemical modification domestic waste valuable biochemicals other than biodiesel, we analyzed series samples, collected over period three years, using quantitative 1 H-NMR. This analysis, allowing quick determination main characteristics, has rendered image vegetable with an almost constant composition time and relative low content saturated fatty acids. make this collection protocol more economical, projected transformation esters epoxidized long chain branched alcohols, which could find employment as biolubricants and/or bioplasticizers. The one-pot transesterification commercially available biodegradable Guerbet alcohols was obtained under environmentally friendly conditions by employing CaO catalyst.
